FREE Summer Camp!


RSU#13 is offering a new federally-funded, FREE Summer Camp.


Open to South School students who will be in K-5th in the 2019-2020 school year.  


All students may apply, however slots are limited and priority enrollment is given to students


identified as needing extra support in reading and math.


 

July 8th - August 1st


Mondays-Thursdays (no camp on Fridays)


Camp hours 12-5pm


*Families must register for all 4 weeks, for all 4 days*

Camp includes:  


Daily physical activity, outdoor time, walking field trips, beach & park exploration, playground games, cooking, baking, healthy snack-making, gardening, arts & crafts, science experiments and math games, community service projects, and fun literacy activities.

Permission to Participate



  • I permit my child to participate in summer camp activities.  




  • In the event that I cannot be reached in a medical emergency, I authorize treatment for my child.  I release after school staff, volunteers, RSU#13 and Board of Directors from responsibility or expense for any injuries incurred by my child while participating in summer camp programs.




  • I understand that my child may be involved in volunteer and community service projects, enrichment activities, cooking programs, workshops, field trips, outdoor activities, using carpentry, art, cooking and gardening tools; working in close proximity with animals and insects; contact with small children and senior citizens under the supervision of summer camp staff. I understand that my child may be transported by summer camp.






  • I understand that my child will be asked periodically to fill out surveys about participation in this program, including the Survey of Afterschool Youth Outcomes (SAYO).  I understand that I may be asked to fill out a parent survey periodically.






  • I give my consent for my child’s photograph, name, quotes, and artwork to be used in after school/summer camp publicity and fundraising materials.




  • I understand that summer school staff may contact school staff or other service providers to discuss my child’s school records, standardized test scores, grades, behavioral issues, medications, correctional system involvement, and other issues.




  • Responsibilities of Students and Parents:  These agreements are in place to ensure the success and enjoyment of all youth.  If a youth fails to follow these rules, he or she may be asked to leave the activity or program. Parents agree to:  contact the Camp Director if student will be late or absent and pick student up on time. Students agree to: turn off and put away all electronic devices while participating, wear clothing that is appropriate for my activity, not bring or be under the influence of drugs, alcohol or cigarettes, not bring weapons of any kind to programs, make others feel welcome, will respect all adults, youth and self.  Additionally, we maintain a zero tolerance policy for any bullying behavior. Bullying is the use of aggression with the intention of hurting another person. Bullying can be unfriendly, excluding, tormenting, pushing, kicking, hitting, punching or any use of violence, racial taunts, graffiti, gestures, unwanted physical contact or sexually abusive comments; homophobic, transphobic, or focusing on the issue of sexuality, name-calling, sarcasm, spreading rumors, teasing, cyber or text bullying. All students and parents agree to a no-bullying atmosphere.
